Sliding Doors and Partitions

In our Berlin manufactory, we also manufacture sliding doors in oversize: we know almost no limits both in door width and in height.

Sliding doors may be regarded as a solution of the past. In Northern Europe, the sliding doors were particularly popular in Great Britain between the end of the 19th century and used mainly as a room divider in the large salons of the mansions. In traditional Japanese houses, the room dividers are called Fusama - sliding screens or sliding doors, which usually consist of a wooden frame covered with cloth or paper. The modern sliding door consists of one or more door leaves. It is guided on the ceiling or on the floor, opens gently to the side and does not strike into the room. The folding door is a special form of the sliding door.

Nowadays the interest in sliding door systems has revived, not least because they are space-saving and correspond to the current design trends. Sliding doors also have the advantage that they take up less space when opening or closing: more space for the floor space in the direction of passage, but sliding doors need space on the sides. The weight of the door leaf depends not only on one side of the door frame, but also on the entire width of the door: this type of construction is especially suitable for heavy doors.

In our Berlin manufactory, we also manufacture sliding doors in oversize: we know almost no limits both in door width and in height. High-height sliding doors up to the (old building) ceiling can be easily manufactured, delivered and installed on site. Our modern sliding doors can be designed according to your personal beauty.
